Quote of the day: " The Father is Mother-Good" - Nat, on Ishida
Wednesday
Awoke today by nehnehpua's call. Supposed to meet early go crash PJC, so happens my IAC classes were on alternate weeks, then Contemporary Issues was an E-Learning. In other words, no school. So later met Nat and went to PJC, in home clothes. Nat just couldn't leave those pjc students walking out of school alone.
" Eh, so you got four As right? "
" DAMN! NUS Psychology DAMN hard la"
Somehow he thinks can fool those PJC ppl..... jtbwg.
So we goto the guard post with a scam in mind. Just go there give card, then they ask what we were here for, so juz say visiting teacher. Then he asked for teacher name... LOL. So we juz came up with some crap, and it was unplanned, but our statements one after the other, the guard just stun tio, cos he first day at work, and let us in.
Saw a few familiars, then later saw shawn, who now supposedly acting emo and quiet in class LOL, then ozy, sk, boss, jason, chen and some pri-sch mates. Felt really relaxing going into PJC, damn unlike NP, the stress simply isn't there. The college feels somewhat more... homely.
Ate chicken rice there, Alfone humz, dun dare honour his western food bet wif me. So later went with CA and Nat go back BBSS. Seeing the school really brightens you up. The nostalgia is something you havent felt for like half a year. Talked with some teachers, esp Siah the most. Cos he like very free to entertain us. Also talk to quekie, who still die-die wan preach his philosopical sayings, simi now you leave the harbour you on your own liao. Yeo seemed alot friendlier, and smiled more... very different. Even Jayanthi bothered to smile la, I still thought her face would blackblack, after our standing-ovation results for CH.
Went up to class after Siah and Quek PS-ed our dinner jio. The school having SA1 now, so its easy to go back to class to slack like before.. come to think of it, really miss it now...
Nevertheless, played wc3 there LOL...
Macs do Warcraft TOO!
LOL, Played ele-TD and Peon Olympics, then later Heng came, after that the security guard came to kp us, cos he run all over the sch to find us, school closing LOL. Then say what next time dont let us in, yea, damn threathened, its his school afterall....
Dinner @ Westmall, KFC tastes... suprisingly good... especially when you havent eaten it there and then for some time now... Watched S3, kinda more towards EMOTIONAL :O , was only OK, not that great. But yea, quite ok, except for the crying kid that comes with all G-rated movies...
Btw, below is my contemporary issues post, on V for Vendetta, for those interested in how a Mass Comms homework is like... LOL. Mostly I write, they juz add, bwg, slackers. Sure mark them down for Peer Evaluation. The main aim is to write until the teacher dun understand, so you will probably get gosu marks, or so we think. In the event you find a paragraph you cannot comprehend, its completley normal, because its written by me, and I myself dont understand it.
Upon explicit consideration of the wide variety of topics that were potentially feasible from the movie, we have chosen the topic of truth.
We believe that actions are defined by thoughts, and thoughts are defined by reason of truth. Individuals think, and hence act as they perceive. Which brings us to our first topic, the saying; Perception Is Reality. How much truth is there in that statement?
We cannot really determine if one’s principles stand for what is right and what is wrong. We may perceive that it is the truth for us and it may say that this is how things should be done. Unfortunately, it may not apply to all. Though we have to acknowledge that with the amount of voices supporting one idea or one principle, the weight of the principle is subject to changes.
Take for example, in the beginning of the movie; a man was trying to burn down the Parliament building. He was later caught, hung and jeered at as his body jerked fighting for air. If the amount of voices, the amount of support this man received is more than a tearing lady in the midst of the Government supporters, would he have been hanging by a noose?
We honestly do not think so. We shall proceed on to our next point that will further explain our analysis and thoughts.
We contemplate on our second theory, is there truth in numbers? Majority or minority? Can we derive reason from numerical truth?
Numbers project an intimidating force. One who actually makes that force known will wield a huge amount of power. The initial part of the movie where the government had an army acting on their orders was most definitely a terrifying ordeal for the people going against them. Whether its Evey’s parents being dragged away, Evey being out during the yellow curfew jeopardizing herself amidst a bunch of fingermen or the security force beating back the protesting crowds, the majority in numbers exhibit strength and power and its not necessarily right. It is just the strength that keeps everyone on their toes and maybe agree to save themselves. Disagree, but in silence for fear of the strength.
Truth in numbers refers to the assumption that an argument with a higher numerical agreement is defined to be correct, or truth in this instance. However, how true is that? Can there not be more truth in less? We reached a solution of ambiguity, that there is no correct method to test and/or determine the authenticity of this statement. We decide to leave it as it is, as food for thought, and or self-perception for truth in the argument.
Lastly, we attempt to disseminate the big question, what makes truth? What makes something true? How can truth be defined, when truth itself is defined by us? Universal laws? One must explicitly consider such laws were probably defined by that of our second argument, truth in numbers. Hence, is there truth to assimilate our laws based on such jurisdiction? If yes, how so? If no, why not?
Hence, we've reached a somewhat novice solution that there is no truth, or more correctly, no existence of absolute truth. We think that something cannot be completely true, neither completely false. We think that something we call, individualistic-truth exists, where one defines his own truth. As in a system where it is impossible to receive complete submission, we also think there is no absolute rejection. We leave you to think, how YOU define your truth, and what really is true.
