Usually I have a problem waking up, because there seems to be no alarm clock thats loud enough. What makes this whole thing queer is that whenever an SMS comes, I automatically awaken.

So today what greeted me was not some lame text, but a picture of a man. This instantly caught my attention. "Mas Selemat bin Kasatri, please call 999 if you see him".

This should be the final straw to demonstrate why our local police agency is like Mars. Intelligent lifeform is absent.

I was having this really casual talk over lunch with my mum when the subject of this man came into the crossfire. Much as I'd like to call it casual talk, it is really an exchange of argumentation, anymore intent to be considered smear campaign.

Call me hero, but I'm one of the few media students that dont even give my daily time to the media, that means I do not read newspapers. Clearly, when I got my content feed from her, it made the whole thing sound ridiculously absurd.

First, a half-handicapped man manages to escape from a high security detention compound leaving almost no traces. This is obviously an inside job. I do not see him having ability to scale 3 metre high walls with his limping leg.

Next, the media unleashes the truth. (or what WE think is true) This inturn generates fear, and the competence of the SPF is put on trial.

The third intelligent move will be to put road-blocks and begin to check. No doubt this hinders the terrorist, but you also hinder the rest of your citizens.

The final straw comes with this MMS. Bet your house on it, "999" is going to be the next hotline. Everyone will think they have seen a terrorist.

Nothing sounds wrong? Now, I just want you to think... think really hard. If YOU were a terrorist. What will you do?

Ask me. First thing I'd do is to generate fear, and that's already being done for me by the SPF.

Fear controls the crowd. It is what keeps you, me and everyone else in check. Look back in history, the most powerful rulers reigned with an iron fist. Fear is terrorism feeds on. If everyone walked into the MRT not giving a damn about it blowing up, I do not see a point in them massacring to get front page news. Everyday Mas Selmat makes headlines, this saves JI some really good money. Advertising is getting competitive nowadays.

Next. I will keep the SPF busy, while waiting for the hype to die down.

Besides being a nuisance to the general public, do you think that incredible spot-check along roads is of use? Any terrorist that has ability to Michael Scofield certainly will not be retarded enough to be caught in your regular roadblock.
